Rev Vaughan Roberts will be visiting Hong Kong and St Andrew’s Church from the 7 – 9 December 2013. Vaughan is the Rector of a large university church, St Ebbe’s, Oxford; the Director of Proclamation Trust, an organisation which trains bible teachers; author (books include ‘God’s Big Picture’ and ‘Battles Christians Face’); and one of the foremost bible teachers in the UK. The theme of his visit is ‘God’s Big Picture’.

God’s Big Picture: A Bible Overview

Saturday 7 December

How do the different parts of the Bible fit together? Explore the Bible’s big picture; get some tools to read any part of the Bible with confidence, and see how the whole Bible points to Jesus. This seminar is suitable for everyone, regardless of current level of knowledge.

God’s Big Picture for Men

Saturday night

What does it mean to be a godly man? How can we encourage one another? Join us for a Chinese banquet and a talk by Vaughan Roberts. Vaughan will tackle the subject of friendship and why this is so important for men.

When: Saturday 7 December, 7:30pm
Where: Scout Association of HK Commissioner’s Club, 8/F, HK Scout Centre (next to BP International House), 8 Austin Rd, Kowloon.
Cost: $300 for a 10-course Chinese banquet including limited drinks

How do we get from Bible text to Bible talk? Vaughan is an internationally renowned Bible teacher and will be sharing insights on sermon preparation. Suitable for people in teaching ministries, this seminar will feature practical teaching and ‘hands on’ exercises.

Monday Evening

Are you a small group leader or interested in being one? This seminar is for you. Ed Brooks, International Student Worker from St Ebbe’s Church in Oxford, will be sharing how to grow a small group in worship, community and mission. Question time will also include input from Vaughan Roberts.

vaughan-robertsVaughan Roberts came to faith as he read through Matthew’s Gospel for himself as a teenager. After studying law at Cambridge University and a brief spell doing student ministry in South Africa, he moved to Oxford to study Theology at Wycliffe Hall and has lived in the city ever since. In 1991 he joined the staff of St Ebbe’s Church to lead the student ministry and since 1998 he has been Rector. He is also the Director of the Proclamation Trust, an organisation that encourages and equips Bible teachers. In his spare time Vaughan writes books and plays cricket and golf.
